Jobbing Production:

Where customers require goods to be produced to their own particular specification. In such an enviroment, each order is a one-off, manufactured to customers order. Typically, only low stocks are held and production is organised in a manner calculated to achieve flexibility. That is, machines and personnel are arranged in a manner that allows production to be shifted quickly from one job to another.

Cellular layout:

The cellular layout is based on grouping of parts to form product families based on common machinning requirements (and other aspects, such as shapes, material composition, and tooling requirements). This layout has a high part flow within cells and low flow between cells. The work cell combines both manufacturing and assembly operations, so that the it is very efficient, and the quality of each part is carefully monitored by individual worker. The type of layout is often referred to as a ''one piece flow''.

Drop Forging:

Drop forging is a metal shaping process in which a heated workpiece is formed by rapid closing of a punch and die forcing the work piece to conform to a die cavity. A workpiece may be forged by a series of punch and die operations (or by several cavities in the same die) to gradually change its shape. Drop forging is also called impression die or closed die forging, or not forging.

Machine Gas Cutting:

Avariety of gas cutting machines has been developped, also. These hold and guide the cutting torch mechanically and advance it over the work at absolutely uniform speed. In this way, cuts of much higher quality and accuracy are obtained at reduced cost.
