VGCF(vapor grown carbon fibers):VGCFs comprise a large family of filamentous nanocarbons.Thwy can be distinguished in terms of arrangement of the graphane layers in their molecular scale structure. They can be plate-like with near paralell graphane layers that are approximately perpendicular to the fiber axis or they can have the 'fish-bone' microstructure with stacked cones of graphane planes.(Functional Fillers For Plastics,Marino Xanhtos,p:194)
Vane Anomometer:In principle vano anomometer is a windmill.Ordinarily eight vanes made of thin aluminium alloy are connected to a spindle mounted on jewelled bearings offering negligible friction. The assembly is mounted concentrically on a short cylindirical housing.Air flowing past the vanes causes rotation of the spindle at rates proportional to air speed.(Fluid Mechanics 2nd edition,A.K. Mohanty,p:493)
Duplex material:a combination of two materials bonded toogether in order to attain properties superior to those produced with a single melt or starting material.(Academic press dictionary for science and technology,Christopher G. Morris,Academic Press,p:694)
Warp Knitting:There are two varieties of knitting weft knitting (usual kind) and warp knitting.A weft knitting fabrics consist of horizontal paralell courses of yarn and requires only a single yarn.By contrast warp knitting requires one yarn for every stitch in the row(course):these yarns make vertical paralell wales.Warp knitting is resistant to runs and is common in lingerie fabrics,e.g.tricot.Warp knitting is generally done by machine whereas weft knitting may be done by machine or hand.Knitting machines use a different mechanical system to produce results nearly identical to those produced by hand-knitting.(Art of Textile Designing,Jennifer Martin)
