Go-Not Go Gage (Plug Gages)

These gages commonly used for holes. The GO gage is smaller than the not got gage and slides into any hole which has a dimension smaller than the diameter of the gage. The NOT GO gage must not go into the hole.

Two gages are required for such measurements, although both may be on the same device, either at the opposite ends or in two steps at one end (step type gage). Plug gages are also available for measuring internal tapers (in which deviations between the gage and the part are indicated by the looseness of the gage), splines, and threads (in which the GO gage must screw into the threaded hole). Plasticizer

Plasticizers are added to polymers to import flexibility and softness by lowering their glass-transition temperature. Plasticizers are low-molecular-weight solvent with high boiling points (nonvolatile). They reduce the strength of the second bonds between the long-chain molecules and thus make the polymer soft and flexible. The most common use of plasticizers is in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which remains flexible during its many uses. Other applications of plasticizers are in thin sheets, films, tubing, shower curtains, and clothing materials. (Kalpakjian, Smith; Manufacturing Engineering and Technology 4th Edition; pg. 190)

Transfer Molding

Transfer molding represents a further development of compression molding. The uncured thermosetting material is placed in a heated transfer pot or chamber. After the material is heated, it is injected into heated closed molds. A ram, a plunger, or a rotating screw feeder (depending on the type machine used) forces the material to flow through the narrow channel into the mold cavity. (Kalpakjian, Smith; Manufacturing Engineering and Technology 4th Edition; pg. 493)

Turret Press

Turret presses are suited to situations in which a sequence of punching, notching, and related cutting operations must be accomplished on sheet-metal-parts. Turret presses have a C-frame. The conventional ram and punch is replaced by a turret containing many punches of different sizes and shapes. The turret works by indexing (rotating) to the position holding the punch to perform the required operation. Beneath the punch turret is a corresponding die turret that positions the die opening for each punch. Between the punch and die is the sheet-metal blank, held by an x-y positioning system that operates by computer numerical control. The blank is moved to the required coordinate position for each cutting operation. (Mikell P. Groover; Fundamentals of Modern Manufacturing Materials, Processes, and Systems 3rd Edition; pg.467)

“METROLOGY” WAS TAKEN BEFORE YOUR ANSWER. YOU SHOULD TAKE ANOTHER TERM.
