Continuous- Path Control systems contain computing elements (interpolators) that permit computation of successive points on desired line segments or curves, strating with minimal input data, such as end points, radii, and center coordinates. Interpolation may be linear, circular, or parabolic.

Gasketing (April 9th, 19:46):
The gasketing technology is known, from the material point of view, as Foam in Place Material (FIPM) technology. A Foam-in-place material is a foam which is applied to a substrate as a liquid or semi-liquid and cures to a solid on the substrate. The technology involves two-component formulations, such as Polyurethane or Silicones. The liquid or semi-liquid material must be applied to the substrate very accurately since curing will occur, and is mostly applied by robots.

Flow Forming (April 9th, 19:59):
A metal preform is flow formed into a desired structure utilizing segment dyes. The metal preform is positioned in a chamber comprised of shaping members which define a surface substantially complementary to the desired surface. At least two of the chaping members are spaced from one another and define a groove therebetween. The preform is heated to a temperature suitable for superplastic forming and then compressed such that the preform deform against the shaping members and into groove. The at least two spaced shaping members are forced to move into contiguous relationship thereby reducing the size of the groove while forcing further deformation of the perform into the groove.

Natural Frequency (Natural Frequnecy) (April 9th, 21:04):
The natural frequency F of a component or a structure establishes the loads and deformations due to the acceleration environments of vibration and shock. The natural frequency (or frequency of free vibration) is the structural parameter that determines a specific value of acceleration and deformation when a broad-frequency spectrum of acceleration is imposed. The power spectral density (PSD) of the random-vibration environment and the acceleration response spectrum of the shock environment will have specific values at the strucrute's natural frequency, and these values will determine the deformations and stresses that occur in the structure.
