Debinderizing (PIM) : This is done in a low-temperature furnace which seldom goes higher than 400 degree F. If more than one platic makes up the binder, the temperature will sequentially evaporate the various constituents. The parts ( now called brown) should by now have shrunk down to nearly the final size. The list of temperatures used and the soak times required make this work ideal for computer control. The ceramic shelves, loaded with parts, are now placed in the sintering furnace. ( Modern Manufacturing Processes - James A. Brown - page 3 )
