Precoated powders
Metal powders may be coated with an element by passing the powder through a carrier gas. Each particle is uniformly coated, thus producing a powder product which , when sintered, has certain characteristics of the coating. This permits a cheap bulk powder to be used as a carrier for the outside active material.Products made from precoated powders which are sintered, are more homogeneous than those produced by blending.
