5-) Push System:
New
& Better
In traditional production environments,
a “push system” is used: work is pushed to the next station as it is completed
without considering whether the next station is ready to take the parts from
the previous station. Consequently, work may pile up at the work stations that
fall behind schedule.

Previous
In traditional manufacturing, the parts are made in batches, placed in
inventory, and used whenever necessary. This approach is known as a push
system, meaning that parts are made according to a schedule and are placed in
inventory to be used whenever they are needed.
