Lead Time
Lead time generally is defined as the length of time between the receipt of an order for a product and its delivery to the customer at the specified time. The selection of a manufacturing process and operation is influenced greatly by the time required to begin production.

Group Technology (cellular) Layout
Many parts in products have certain similarities in their shape and in their method of manufacture. Group technology(GT) is a concept that seeks to take advantage of the design and processing similarities among the parts to be produced. The term "group technology" first was used in 1959, but not until the use of interactive computer became widespread in the 1970s did this technology develop significantly.
The similarity in the chacartestics of similar parts suggests that benefits can be obtained by classifying and coding these parts into families. By disassembling each product into its individual components and then identifiying the similar parts, one company found that 90% of the 3000 parts made by a company fell into only five major families of parts.

Automated guided vehicles

Automated Guided Vehicles( AGVs) have a tremendous range of automated capabilities. Many systmes are called upon to go up and down ramps, open and close automatic doors, cross drawbridges, run outside, use elevators and perform advanced automatic loading and unloading functions. These capabilities give a materials handling engineer a powerful tool to use in solving horizantal materials transportataion problems.

Product lifecycle management

Product lifecycle management(PLM) is a systematic, controlled concept for managing and developing products and product related information. PLM offers management and control of the product (product development, productizing and product marketing) process and the order-delivery process, the control of product related information throughout the product life cycle, from the initial idea to the scrap yard. Almost without exception, the PDM and PLM abbreviations also refer to information systems developed to manage product lifecycle and product related data.

  1. Lead time'ı başkası bir gün önce yazmış, başka bir terim seçmen gerek.
